Appeal for Donation
Dear Sir / Madam,
The Mose Valley Education Trust (MVET) has been operating an English Medium School (under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education) situated at village Dasve, Lavasa Taluka Mulshi, Dist Pune in the name of Dasve Public School (DPS) largely for the unprivileged children of 18 villages in an around Lavasa Hill City. Starting in 2009, for the first 10 years the school provided education in English medium for classes 1 to 10 along with facilities of meals, books, uniforms, day-care and transport free of cost to all students. Most of them belong to poor families from the villages in Lavasa. For the past four years, however, the school is experiencing paucity of funds for running its operations.
MVET is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing quality education with a mission to transform the lives of children from the underprivileged communities. It is believed that good education will enable underprivileged children to maximize their potential, and equip them to become self-sufficient and contributing members of society. The school education will help them develop character, positive self-image and commitment to succeed in life.
Dasve Public School follows a rigorous academic program combined with a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. It thereby ensures that the students passing out from the school have the capacity to face the challenges in a fast changing world and prove to be worthwhile global citizens. Despite having students from local villages, the school has excellent academic record with 100 percent passing results in Board’s exam of 10th standard. Many students are passing with distinction and first class and are later pursuing higher studies.
Currently, the School has 270 students. This number is expected to touch 300 in near future. Most of the students come from local villages and are unable to pay any fees. Hence, the school does not charge any fees from them. Lately the school has started admitting children of families other than local villagers. The School was initially funded by Lavasa Corporation Ltd, the proponent of Lavasa project. For past 5 years, it was being funded by a few charitable trusts. Required funding from these charitable trusts are not regular and hence facing intermittent problems in managing the schools basic expenses Since the school does not charge any fees to the local villagers and subsidizes other costs, it needs funding from donations to continue its operations. The Mose Valley Education Trust therefore seeks donations to be able to manage the operations of school.
I therefore earnestly appeals to you to help these students by donating funds to the Trust. Your contribution will be invaluable as it will save many a needy students from being deprived of the good quality education that the school offers.

The contribution to the trust to the extent of 50 per cent is exempt from the Income Tax under Section 80 G of the Income Tax Act. The donation may be paid by an account payee cheque favoring Mose Valley Education Trust or by clicking on the payment link provided on the website or by direct on-line transfer to the Trust’s bank account. In all cases, it is important to give your name, email address and PAN number for the Trust to be able to issue a receipt that is valid for claiming income tax benefit.
